Storage Units
The proper storage of wine is becoming big
business. This is epi-phenomenal of the 'great grape rush' to wine
over the last decade or so. Many people have found wine rather
pleasing, aesthetically, culturally, and as a whole. The simple fact
is that wine has dethroned beer as the great 'soft liquor' drink of
the ages. For this reason, it is important to understand the
numerous types of wine storage units that are available the market
today.
Wine storage units are simply a means by which to store wine, at
least traditionally. However, now they have taken on greater
proportions, as a medium to carry bottles of vino, and even as
status symbols.
The use of these units for transport of wine bottles is quite unique
to the history of wine drinking and its subsequent storage. Now not
only do people wish to maintain their vintage bottles at home, but
also seek was of carrying bottles, either individually or in sets of
3, 4, or more. This is facilitated with special tubes that act as
individual wine storage units, which can be safely stored in the
trunk of a car, in the baggage lofts of an airplane, or even to the
main support bar of a bicycle.
Larger containers are basically boxes that are padded with
individual cells that allow wine bottles to be safely tucked away.
Some such containers can hold upwards of ten or twelve bottles and
are perfect for wine brokers and merchants that must travel
extensively while also maintaining numerous samples of their fare.
Of course, the largest storage furniture for wine are large racks,
shelves really, that are designed to hold bottles safely by not
allowing them to touch one another, much less to rattle or bang
together. These wine storage units are not for transporting bottles,
but rather maintain bottle safety in the home and stand as sturdy
guardians, ever prepared for their continual task.
With this, like so much in life, these larger racks connote a
cultural exclusiveness for many people. For this, wine storage
cabinets and other types of like furniture are sometimes displayed
in kitchens and living rooms, fulfilling not only a close proximity
of access, but also a great source of pride for the owner and
conversation for all involved.
